Hightower Boatworks
Starting w/ a 21′ Center Console Dusky, the Hightower brothers have always been avid fishermen. As president of a reputable commercial construction company, Jimmy Hightower always had dreams of building his own boat. In 2006, Hightower made this a reality when he teamed up with Jesse Rhodes, a young yacht designer and builder. After obtaining a yacht design diploma from the Landing School and graduating with an engineering degree from North Carolina State University, Jesse moved down to beautiful Charleston to fulfill his calling of building and designing boats. Hightower Boatworks grew from this relationship: an experienced fisherman and builder with an energetic young professional. Starting with the Hightower 62′, Jimmy and Jesse have established a strong well-complementing partnership
Working closely together with Glenn Keyes Architects and Hightower Construction, Hightower Boatworks is proud to be involved in the construction of the new steeple for St. John the Baptist Cathedral, located in Downtown Charleston. Incorporating our in house design and the lightweight cold mold construction methods of boatbuilding, we are truly looking forward to this project.
