<p>CHARLESTON &#8211; At 12:26 p.m. Monday, three new church bells pealed over  downtown Charleston for the first time.</p>
<p>Father Gregory Wilson used a mallet to ring them in celebration of their  successful move via crane to the top of the Cathedral of St. John the  Baptist.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is the fulfillment of a real dream,&#8221; he said, referring to the  installation of the first portion of the church&#8217;s 82-foot-tall steeple and  spire.</p>

Welcome to our site!  Here you will  find a wealth of information all about the restoration work on the exterior of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist of Charleston, South Carolina, one of Charleston’s most beloved historic buildings.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This is no ordinary compilation of information.  Some of the world’s best and brightest have collaborated on this project.  You will find detailed information on all facets of the restoration provided by its world-class team of architects, engineers, manufacturers and artisans who have been entrusted to realize this long-standing dream.</p>
